Designed with relaxed comfort in mind, the KNIT SAFARI Sloppy V Sweater features an aggressively deep V to let you flash some skin. Wear this cotton knit sweater with a lace camisole or over an oversized shirt to layer up the cool factor when the temperature drops. This might be the perfect summer knitting pattern, with recycled cotton yarn, a relaxed fit and modern shaping.

The Sloppy V Sweater is a cotton sweater constructed seamlessly bottom-up, from the hem to the underarms, and then the sleeves are knitted in the round, (and can be done two-at-a-time if you’re feeling adventurous!) Next, the body and arms are joined together to start the raglan shaping, and then the handknitted v neck trim is picked up and knitted around the neckline to finish off your DIY knitted summer top.

FIT: Oversized fit and a semi-cropped length. You may wish to knit a smaller size for a closer fit.

SIZES: Adults from XS, S, M, L, XL, 2XL, 3XL, 4XL, 5XL (30-60” Bust)

YARN: 523 (570, 635, 691, 733, 828, 929, 1029, 1135) metres of an Aran weight cotton or recycled denim type yarn with approximately 8-10 wraps per inch, equivalent to approximately 4 (5, 5, 6, 6, 7, 7, 8, 9) x100g balls of yarn (yarn estimates are approximate.)

We used 5 balls of Wool and the Gang Billie Jean Yarn in Washed Out Denim for the size medium.

Can't find this yarn near you, or not sure if the yarn in your stash will work? We always recommend that you knit a test swatch to check your gauge before starting out, and finding the right combination of needle size and type and yarn to match the gauge in the pattern.
